Founded in Germany in 1961 by Walter Herrmann, the Herrmann Group expanded internationally with its first North American subsidiary in 1991. Further growth followed through wholly owned companies in China and Japan. Herrmann Ultrasonics (Taicang) Co., Ltd., established in 2010, serves as the Group’s China headquarters and is located in the Taicang Economic Development Zone, Suzhou. With more than 60 years of experience, Herrmann is recognized as a global technology leader in ultrasonic welding. Through continuous innovation, the company has achieved sustainable growth in plastics, packaging, nonwovens, and metal welding applications, while remaining committed to creating value for its customers.

The first company building in Langensteinbach, Germany

The foundation of the company

Foundation of the company Walter Herrmann Elektronik und Elektromaschinenbau in Karlsbad-Langensteinbach.

1969

The first generation of ultrasonic welding machines

Introduction of the first Herrmann ultrasonic welding machines for thermoplastic parts: establishment of the first business division: PLASTICS.

1973

The company building in its original form in Ittersbach

The future headquarters of the Herrmann Group was set up in the new industrial area of the town of Karlsbad-Ittersbach, with an area of 1,800 m².

1976

ULTRASAFE: the first ultrasonic welding machine with an industrially produced sound insulation.

1984

Specially designed ultrasonic machine for welding automotive bumpers

Ultrasonic custom machines: customer-specific solutions for welding large plastic parts such as car bumpers, door paneling or instrument panels.
